Where to eat in Ibiza this Christmas?

Where to eat in Ibiza this Christmas?

It is one of the most complicated questions of these dates.

But don't worry! We come to offer solutions.

Or, at least, ideas.

Christmas Eve dinners

It must be admitted that there are not many restaurants open at this time... That's what winter in Ibiza has: there is little left, but what is left is authentic (yes).

Among our partners, 5 renowned restaurants remain open and offer menus, each with its own particular way of celebrating the night of December 24.

180º Gastrobar brings out the heavy artillery directly from the Mediterranean with a great selection of starters to share such as Iberian ham, tuna, seafood cream, shrimp and mussels, to give way to a main course to choose between goat shoulder or sea bass.

Montesol Experimental bets on an assortment of scallops, crayfish, foie-gras, creamy squid rice, shrimp and aioli, and a truffled chicken cannelloni. And some incredible French toast with brioche bread, crème anglaise and vanilla ice cream as the icing on the cake.

Can Curreu, like every year, celebrates Christmas Eve with a delicious selection of flavours: tomato and Parmesan croquette, grilled scallops, sea bass supreme, baked lamb shoulder and French toast with coffee ice cream for dessert.

In the Jara of The Standard they are also celebrating with an interesting offer of starters and main dishes to share such as vegetable salad, ceviche, duck croquettes and the classic portion of Iberian ham with crystal bread. Among the main ones we have: charcoal-grilled octopus, mushroom and ricotta ravioli, suckling pig at low temperature and tomato salad.

Finally, at El hotel Pachá you can enjoy a niguiri and maki appetizer, a truffle ravioli starter, followed by for the pistachio-battered sea bass and a beef tenderloin; for dessert, cheesecake, red berries and raspberry ice cream.

December 25 (fum-fum-fum)

canapes de navidad

After an incredible night of sumptuous meals, desserts and spirits, it is very likely that your body will ask for a little rest.

But… the food on December 25 is also important.

If you are proactive, we recommend that you leave something prepared in advance so you can enjoy the day with peace of mind.

As an appetizer, opt for cold canapés, something like puff pastry baskets with cream cheese and a seafood of your choice. Add a good board of cheeses and serrano ham with oven-heated bread and anchovy olives.

The best thing for main dishes is some baked meat. Because? Easy: either you make it that same morning, or you leave it almost done and give it a final blast of heat in the oven before serving it. The favourites are usually lamb shoulder with potatoes, a round of chicken (if you need something lighter) or suckling pig.

The dessert, in this case, is the simplest thing because in Ibiza the nadal sauce and the bescuit are popular around these dates, something you can easily get. If not, an assortment of polvorones, mantecados and nougats with coffee is always popular.

Now the decision is yours!

The last night of the year in good company

fiesta de ano nuevo en ibiza

December 31 is very special, it doesn't matter where you read this from. It is also, for most, the most festive night of the year.

The same 5 restaurants that we have already mentioned celebrate New Year's Eve and will be happy to welcome you to have a good start to the new year all together.

A 180º Gastrobar, Montesol Experimental, Can Curreu, Jara and El hotel Pachá are added:

  • La Brasa: they bet on flavors mostly from the sea in the starters with oysters, clams and ceviches, and for the main dishes you can choose between fish, beef tenderloin or duck.
  • Art: our beloved tapas tavern continues in its line with an interesting offer of oysters, monkfish and shrimp salpicón, foie-gras terrine, grilled dentol, grilled chateubriand and homemade bread.
  • Cas Gasí: although they have announced their opening during the last night of the year, they have not specified a specific menu yet. Stay tuned!
  • Tsuma: also invites us to celebrate New Year's Eve together, but without a special menu at the moment.

Most of these fantastic menus include party favours and lucky grapes, as well as a glass to toast...

Enjoy!
